It’s a brand new year and the Junior Enlisted Council is reaching out for more Airmen!

Join Senior Airmen David Correa, president, Joseph Oswald, vice president, Natalia A. Howard, treasurer, and Kareem Neil and Tech. Sgt. Tiffany Williams, co-secretaries, as the new staff of the 2020 council.

At JEC meetings, members come together to discuss problems and solutions to be channeled up to senior leaders so improvements can be made, said former vice president, Tech. Sgt. Stacy McGrane, 108th Logistics Readiness Squadron.

In addition, JEC conducts fundraisers, such as bowling events and mixers, and host activities, such as the dunk tank, during Family Day, and a volunteer blood drive for community engagement. There is a guest speaker each month and an encouraging atmosphere for more events to be considered.

Not to mention, membership is free!

While previous Airmen showed interest, past and present members hope to see greater support in 2020.

As a dedicated member and now president, “I have a genuine interest in improving the wing and want to bring in new members,” said Correa, 140th Cyber Operations Squadron. “I have a lot of ideas and I know I can make a bigger impact with a leadership role.”

Meetings are held every Saturday drill at 1300 in the conference room of building 3335—the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron—unless a change of venue is sent by email.

“I went to my first meeting because someone invited me,” said McGrane. “But Airmen should understand, this is how you get heard.”

Participating in the JEC produces real results, notes McGrane.
