Welcome to Sean’s Room, a peer-to-peer support program for all members of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.  The mission of the program is to build a safe and confidential space that provides education, resources, mental health support, and a safe environment to share.  The Sean’s Room JB MDL program is designed to bridge the gap between barriers to mental health and those needing confidential help.

Having a bad day? Don’t want to speak with your leadership, supervisor, friends, or family? Sean’s Room is the place to be. Whether you or someone you know is having a bad day, a bad moment, or feel their life is off the rails, escape to Sean’s Room. There, you are free to verbally express yourself or free to just sit quietly, or even work a puzzle to free your mind and reset.

Perhaps you need mentorship, Sean’s Room is a great place to receive peer-to-peer guidance. This is another way to receive career advice on opportunities, advancements, “military pro tips, or how to best handle a situation or conflict.

The operation of Sean’s Room is led by Active-Duty volunteers assigned for 30-to-60 days to ensure someone is always available in-person and by phone. All volunteers are at least 5-level, and certified or trained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), safeTALK (Suicide Alertness For Everyone), violence prevention, Master Resiliency Trainers, Resiliency Trainer Assistants, Warrior Connect, or Peer24 qualified. Subsequentially, volunteers must also sign a non-disclosure agreement through the Chaplain Corps prior to working within Sean’s Room.

Sean’s Room is available to all military members, civilians, and dependents. It’s located at the Special Category Lounge inside the Passenger Terminal, building 1706 on Vanderberg Avenue, JB MDL. Hours of operation are as follows: In-Person daily 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and by phone 24/7 by calling (609) 864- 7210.
