JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. -- Members of the 108th Wing,
The Secrectary of the Air Force has directed all Department of the Air Force personnel to complete the Secrectary of Defense Operational Security (OPSEC) and Unauthorized Disclosure training. All information has been published on the DAF OPSEC and Security Training Portal page: https://www.my.af.mil/gcss-af/USAF/ep/globalTab.do?channelPageId=sC2DB2BB273778CB00173822D7BDE0001.
It has been directed by the National Guard Bureau that all Air National Guard personnel (All DAF military, government civilians, and on-site contractors) are to complete the assigned training via the Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) through the Advanced Distributed Learning Service (ADLS) web site which is now live. This is the best solution as ADLS will track completion of all four training requirements.
The following reflects the most current guidance and status of training options for the SecDef-mandated OPSEC training. The ANG and Air Force Reserve have been given an extension until Sept. 18, 2020 to allow for two complete drill weekends to accomplish this mandatory OPSEC and security related training. There are two options to complete this training, with the simplest and most direct route being through ADLS, but you can also be presented the slides for all of the training by your commander or his/her designee (OPSEC Coordinator) with a training sign-in sheet that is relayed to the Unit Training Manager (UTM) for them to update your records in ADLS to show completion of this requirement.
In order to complete the training through ADLS, follow these instructions and the system should automatically update your training status as complete; however, it is always a good idea to save a copy of your training certificates for these courses upon completion.
The training is both OPSEC and traditional security with a predominance being traditional security.
If there are any questions regarding this SecDef-mandated OPSEC training or anything else related to OPSEC, please do not hesitate to reach out to the 108th Wing OPSEC Program Managers, Maj Jason Neumann, (609) 754-3173, or 1st Lt Rob Weaver, (609) 754-2672.
