  • Dominican American Airman shares family story

    As a Dominican American in the New Jersey Air National Guard, Senior Airman Kevin Gonzalez-Luis is a part of the 14 percent of Hispanic Airmen in the U.S. Air Force, according to the Department of Defense Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. His parents came to the U.S. in the 1990s and worked hard for their family to have a good life in a new country. Gonzalez-Luis works full time with the 108th Force Support Squadron's installation personnel readiness section where he is responsible for everything related to readiness and deployments. He also works part time at an Acura dealership where he learns and earns certifications for automotive technology. He hopes to one day become fully licensed and open his own automotive shop.
  • 108th Wing Guardsmen no longer tasked with drug testing duties

    The Drug Demand Reduction Program, once assigned to Drill Status Guardsmen as an additional duty, has now become a civilian-run entity led by contractor, Tammy Gericke. Gericke, with a hired staff of civilian contractors as Drug Testing Program Administration Managers (or DTPAMs) and observers, will now manage testing for the 108th Wing, "striv[ing] for a drug-free Air Force".
